"Jumpable" days are getting pretty sparse around here lately, but when the weather decides to cooperate, we are as busy as ever. Last Saturday, we flew 26 PAC loads! That's about as many loads as you can squeeze in when the sun sets at nearly 4:30 in the afternoon.
Two weeks ago, we hosted our first dart tournament in the CSC Lounge and it was a big hit. With 7 teams competing, things got out of hand in a hurry. Congratulations to:
This past weekend was the CSC Year-End Film Festival. We had some great entries again this year. We're working on getting all of them uploaded to YouTube. Click below to watch a couple of them...
This upcoming weekend will be our final 3 days of the 2007 skydiving season. Believe is or not, we still have a busy student load for the weekend with nearly 20 tandems scheduled on Friday alone! Be sure to stick around on Saturday evening for the pool tournament and the free pizza party in the CSC Lounge.
Now that the last weekend of the season is here, we need to remind everyone to get all personal belongings out of their lockers by the end of business on Sunday. Also, all RVs must be taken off the DZ unless you have contracted with CSC for winter storage.
We are putting together another racing event at Chicago Indoor Racing on Saturday, December 1 at 7:30pm. Racing is $95/person pre-paid and open to anyone. Also, if you don't want to drive, feel free to come and watch. Interested? Contact Lisa.
We are getting more and more people signed up for the New Years Boogie in Puerto Escondido, Mexico. It's going to be a great time!
Apparently, Kro is enjoying himself down in Mexico. He just send me this photo that he took while vacationing in Acapulco this week.
We have a lot of equipment going on the market as we are in the midst of upgrading all of our student and tandem equipment. Here's a small list of some of the equipment we are selling. We will have a more detailed list with photos posted on dropzone.com within the next week or so. If you are interested in learning more - gear@skydivecsc.com
Congratulations:
The holidays are almost here, keep in mind that we are selling reloadable gift cards in Manifest and the CSC PROshop. Also, gift certificates can be purchased online. Certificates are emailed immediately upon purchase - perfect for you last minute shoppers!

Nearly two weeks ago, one of our great friends and part-time instructors was involved in a serious accident. Nick Sclafani got on his motorcycle to run down to a local restaurant to pick-up some soup. On his short ride, a drunk driver pulled out in front of him. Since then, Nick has been in the Surgical ICU at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Most of his injuries were to his face and it appears, at this point, that there is no spinal injury. He has been heavily sedated throughout his stay and will remain so for quite a while as he recovers from his 10+ hour facial reconstructive surgery on Wednesday. Nick's wife, Amy, has asked that visitors hold off until further notice. She mentioned that quite a few skydivers have stopped in to see Nick. While the family appreciates the support, they need to keep Nick's exposure to a minimum to reduce the chance of infection during the healing process. We will keep everyone updated on his progress as we learn more.

In the meantime, donations are being taken to help support the Sclafani family through this ordeal. Nick was the primary breadwinner and Amy has taken time off from her part-time job to be with Nick. That said, any donations will be appreciated. Just as a note, this is something that we have set-up for Nick and Amy and not something they asked for. Send checks to CSC or call in your credit cards. Any donation would mean the world to them. Also, we accept PayPal. Send payments to paypal@skydivecsc.com and put "Nick Sclafani" in the notes.

If you've ever met Nick, you'd never forget him. He is a great person and a primary reason that I am still a skydiver today. He would do anything for anyone and have fun doing it. Keep him in your thoughts this holiday season. For more information, visit www.helpnicksclafani.com
