skydive update

It's starting to feel like a dropzone around here again. The weather has finally started to work with us. There are still plenty of storms coming thru, but at least we are getting some weekend jumping in. Saturday's forecast wasn't very good, but we still put up 19 loads. Sunday's forecast was perfect and it truly was. Unfortunately, people were forced to wait 1 - 1.5 hours to get on the Otter, but no one seemed to mind. The temperature was perfect and everyone was just glad to be back at the DZ. We ended up flying 25 loads on Sunday and dropped 545 jumpers. That's an average of 21.8 people per load!

Last week was our final 2006 training camp with Team Fastrax over in Middletown, OH. We would like to wish them luck in Eloy, AZ at the US Nationals later this month. Speaking of Team Fastrax, have you seen the cover of the new Parachutist Magazine? A few of the members of Team Fastrax are the ones landing on Ellis Island next to the Statue of Liberty.

Special thanks to Sporto who joined us this weekend from Skydive Tecumseh in Michigan. He and Matty organized some great freefly jumps over the weekend and and Sporto lived up to his partying image by going to bed at 8:30 on Saturday night.

We have a great weekend coming up. Friday evening is the Annual Firewire Party for those looking to share any video clips as we get ready for the CSC Film Festival next month. Robert Chromy will be here this weekend for another training camp for the CSC Sirens as they get ready for US Nationals. Plan on a busy day on Friday starting at 9:30am. Also, this weekend is the Autumn Boogie and Annual Chili Cook-Off. Come out and enjoy $17.00 skydives (for experienced jumpers) and stick around for a great chili contest. We encourage everyone to enter. The CSC Girls will be judging the event on several factors and prizes will be awarded.

The end of the season is drawing near. We will be closing on November 12. If you are interested in renting hangar space for storage, please contact doug@skydivecsc.com. All RVs must be off the dropzone (or stored in the hangars) by November 15. Also, please note that the hangars will be locked all winter. Please be sure to empty all lockers before November 12.

Arianna is scheduled to leave for the winter after the Halloween weekend, so if anyone needs any rigging done, please contact her before then.

Congratulations:
