It's been a couple of weeks since our last update, so there are plenty of photos in this one...
The last couple of weeks have been busy around here and the air-conditioned packing area has been a life-saver. With temps nearing the 100 degree mark, people simply don't have the energy to pack in the heat all day.
Starting on Thursday this week, Robert Chromy will be here coaching the two CSC 4-way teams. This is a 5-day camp that runs thru Monday, so expect the Otter to be flying everyday! Don't forget, if you and your team would like to join CSC Rubicon and the CSC Sirens this week, we are offering $16 jumps Thursday, Friday, Monday, and $18 jumps Saturday, Sunday.
This is going to be a busy weekend at CSC. On top of the 4-way camp, Saturday, we have night jumps and Sunday, high-altitude jumps. Briefing for the night jumps begin at 8:00pm in the tandem classroom and the load will be off the ground by 8:30pm. Briefing for the high-altitude jumps begin at 7:30am Sunday morning. Pre-manifesting is required for both night and high-altitude jumps.
Last week, a few of us took time off to enjoy some relaxing time at Sky Team's lakefront retreat. It was nice to get away for a couple of days.
Next week starts Bram and Elly's AFF Instructor Certification Course. If you have not registered yet, please contact bram@skydiveratings.com
Next weekend is going to be a busy one too! We have another NSL meet and Eric Bickle is organizing big-ways. Skydive Chicago will be sending over an Otter for the two-plane attempts. It's been a long time since we have done multiple plane formations at CSC and we're very excited about it. For more info on the big ways, contact eric@asignworks.com
Don't forget about Ribfest next Saturday night. $10 gets you all the food you can eat and a great party!
The $250 All-You-Can-Jump Boogie is coming up on August 26 - 27
We would like to bid a fond farewell to one of our full-time staff members who is leaving us after several great years on the CSC team. Kyle Henderson is headed down to Texas to spend time with his girlfriend and start a new chapter in his life. While at CSC, Kyle has been a part of the video staff and helped out with some coaching. Kyle has always been one of our most reliable team members. Thanks for everything Kyle!

Safety:
We need to keep a better eye on each other while crossing the runway. From now on, CSC staff members and load organizers will be assisting jumpers across the runway. With the east winds we've been having this season, we need to keep a closer eye out for approaching gliders, tow planes, and the Otter on base leg and final approach. We have a great place out here, but we have to respect the fact that we share the runway with the soaring club. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please email doug@skydivecsc.com.
